Earth Day is every day, not just April 22nd. April 22nd is a special day out of the year that allows everyone to reflect on the importance of preserving Earth’s natural resources and biodiversity for future generations. Earth Day is about promoting and learning about sustainable practices to make your impact on the world and starting them that day with hopes of continuing.
As TuLotero has a special interest in the lottery, we wanted to recognize the following states for their environmental consciousness and allocation of their proceeds towards environmental initiatives. Every bit makes a difference!
Colorado Is A Powerhouse For Environmental Initiatives on Earth Day
The Colorado Lottery has adopted environmentally conscious practices and allocated funds to support environmental conservation efforts in the state. Through partnerships with environmental organizations and government agencies, the Colorado Lottery has put forth over $4 billion dollars to fund projects aimed at preserving natural habitats, promoting sustainable land management practices, and leisure areas such as tennis courts.
As Colorado is known for their scenic trails, rivers, parks, and mountains, these funds are imperative for the upkeep and improvement of their precious landscapes. This is accomplished because the state park system, Colorado Parks and Wildlife, receives 10% of the Lottery’s annual proceeds. Money does not go towards citizens, or schools and was voted on in 1992 to strictly go towards environmental purposes.
Minnesota Is Eco-Friendly
In Minnesota, the state lottery has implemented eco-friendly practices and allocated funds to support environmental conservation efforts. Minnesota created The Environment and Natural Resources Trust Fund (ENRTF) in 1988 and its sole mission is to protect the state’s environment. The trust fund states that money may be used from the trust towards “public purpose of protection, conservation, preservation, and enhancement of the state’s air, water, land, fish, wildlife, and other natural resources.” Over $875 million dollars has been spent over the years with the goal of bettering the environment.
Lottery Dollars All Around You
These lotteries are helping to create a more sustainable and prosperous future for all. As awareness of environmental issues continues to grow, we can expect to see even more lotteries across the United States embracing green initiatives and supporting causes that benefit both the planet and its people. TuLotero is doing their part by creating a paperless ticket lottery experience. Purchase tickets through the app and reduce paper waste while also putting money towards the above initiatives. Maybe you will be the next big winner! TuLotero, your lottery app, appreciates Earth day today and every day!
